Are you a theme developer looking to learn how to optimize images on Shopify? Join our virtual, open-enrollment image performance workshop taught by our Shopify performance engineers. This is a virtual workshop delivered live in one 3-hour session.
By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:
- Determine the right image formats to use
- Understand how to write HTML and CSS for responsive images on the web
- Use Liquid APIs and features to deliver responsive and performant images
- Debug the common image causes for failing LCP (Largest Contentful Paint) and CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift) metrics
- Optimize images for loading speed performance
- Use advanced testing tools like WebPageTest and Chrome Dev Tools to measure performance and debug image performance issues

What will I learn?
This workshop is focused on giving you the skills and practical advice for helping a Shopify store serve optimized images.
We will cover the essentials of image formats and how to serve optimized images on the web including the HTML and CSS to do this correctly. Then we will apply these skills to Shopify's Liquid API.
You will also learn the most common causes for poor performance that are caused by images and how to fix those issues.
Who can sign up for this workshop?
Any Shopify theme developer who would like to better understand how to optimize images for a Shopify storefront. It does not matter if your theme is in the theme store or if you work on a custom theme. All developers who understand HTML, CSS, and Liquid are welcome.
Can I buy tickets for someone else? Or more than one ticket?
